Overview

The EGON DC-Hub is the command centre for your 12/24V dual battery system. It's an ultra-robust, central power distribution hub that eliminates the complex web of traditional wiring. It consolidates your build by allowing you to connect your primary charging system and distribute fused power to your accessories from a single, clearly-labelled location, slashing installation time and simplifying diagnostics. No crimps, lugs, or heat-shrink required.

Features

  • Fast and Simple Installs: Direct wire to board connections cut hours off your install. No lugs, crimps, heat shrink, or specialised tools required.
  • Improve Device Efficiency: A centralized design with tight-fitting connections minimizes voltage drop, ensuring your gear runs at peak performance.
  • Instant Fault Diagnosis: Built-in LEDs show exactly which fuse has blown for quick fixes.
  • Future Proof Your Build: Seamlessly add or remove accessories without having to re-wire your entire system.
  • Backed by 4 Year Warranty: Confidence built in with one of the strongest warranties in its class.
  • Universal Compatibility: Fully compatible with 12V and 24V systems and any size or chemistry of battery bank (AGM, Lithium, etc.).

Built to be Abused

We engineered the DC-Hub for the harshest conditions imaginable. In testing, we subjected it to massive current overloads far beyond any real-world scenario. The result? No warping, no melting, and zero damage.

What's Included

  • 1 x EGON DC-Hub Unit
  • Fastener-Kit to mount circuit board into optional bracket or onto any surface

What You'll Need

  • Main Fuses: You must install external main fuses at your batteries (e.g., a 150A fuse at the aux battery).
  • Fuses: The DC-Hub is supplied without fuses. You must select the correct Maxi and Standard ATO fuses for your loads and wire gauges.
  • Cabling: Appropriate gauge cabling for your planned loads.

Optional: EGON DC-Hub Bracket & Cover (available separately or as a kit add-on)

Installation

Connections

  • All ground connections are combined on the circuit board.
  • Aux (house) battery connects to P3 with an external 150A fuse at the battery bank.
  • Start battery connects to P8 with an external fuse at the vehicle start battery.
  • Solar panels connect to P7. Both P7 (solar) and P8 (start) positive cables are linked to P6 for easy integration with DC/DC chargers that include MPPT.
  • DC/DC charger connects to P5 (charge output/ground) and P6 (solar & start inputs).
  • Accessories (fridge, lights, compressors, etc.) connect to the remaining fused outputs.
  • All fused Outputs can also be used as Inputs

High-Current Circuits

  • Connectors P4 and P5 handle up to 80A continuous load. Dual-fuse provisions (e.g., 2 × 30A for a 60A load) must be used to prevent overheating.
  • Connectors P9 and P10 support 40A continuous load or 80A intermittent (<10 minutes at 50% duty cycle).
  • Always use fuses smaller than or equal to the cable’s amp rating and never exceed appliance manufacturer’s fuse ratings.

Torque Settings

  • 150A connector: 3Nm
  • 80A / 40A connectors: 1.8Nm
  • 25A connectors: 0.8Nm
  • Tighten all unused clamps to avoid vibration noise. In high-vibration builds, check torque as part of regular maintenance.

Fuse Handling

  • Fuses are designed to fit tightly to prevent voltage drop and overheating. Do not bend or loosen fuse holders.
  • If a fuse becomes loose, gently pinch the connector with pliers before reinserting.
  • Pay particular attention to fuse fitment at P5 (DC/DC charger).

FAQs

FAQs

How difficult is the installation?

If you have basic 12V knowledge, installation is straightforward. All connections land at a single, clearly-labelled point, and the manual provides detailed instructions and torque settings. The main advantage is removing the complexity of creating multiple fuse blocks and busbars from scratch.

What battery size (Ah) can I use?

The DC-Hub is not limited by a battery's Amp Hour (Ah) capacity. It works with any size battery bank. You must only respect the maximum current (Amp) limits for each input and output circuit as specified in the manual.

How does this compare to a Redarc RedVision or other digital management system?

The DC-Hub is designed for simplicity and reliability. Unlike digital management systems, it has no screens, apps, or complex software—it's a rugged, analogue solution focused purely on safe and simple power distribution. It also features a higher main current capacity (150A) than many all-in-one systems.

Ticks so many boxes.

I was reluctant at first to do the install myself but once I came across the dc hub it made life so much easier. The online tutorials aswell as cable selection and fuse tables gave me confidence that I was using the correct sizes.
I had a technical question and Heiner responded really quickly.
The dc hub has made my setup really versatile and I’m really happy that I decided to install it.

I took my time to ensure u got it right and to get my head around certain matters such as running the heavy duty wires from the battery. The connections were simple when I was at that stage. The real time was the design location for the wires !
