Why We're Different

Egon Mission First is two blokes with a hellava lot of 4x4 vehicle building, project planning and global expedition experience wanting to share their combined 60 years of experience with you – to build your rig and spare you anguish and indecision while accomplishing your overland mission.

Because. Well, look at YouTube. You’ll find an inexhaustible supply of advice. And most of it from guys with a channel to guys with a channel helping out product makers sell their gear to you.

We have YouTube (that’s true) but that’s where the similarities end. Andrew has 40 years exploring 22 countries in 4x4s. He has almost singlehandedly launched concepts to this industry making overland travel effortless. Heiner has 15 years project managing hundreds of complex overlander builds in Australia, his specialty being electrical, air and plumbing.

Andrew and Heiner are the real deal. And neither of them is aligned in any way to product makers. In their minds, products qualify to be recommend if and only when: they just work, they keep working and they combine well with other products recommended. They must also be good value.

If you are building or planning on building an overland tourer, do these ideas ignite your reasoning?

EGON Mission First

Welcome to EGON Mission First. Architectural planning for overlanders

Building an overlander is like building a house. You’ve bought the land. And now you’ll need experts to get the walls straight. So you’ll call in an architect. If you don’t, not every wall will be straight and the roof might leak. Ditto here...

You’ve bought the vehicle. Now, you’ll need experts to get the systems to live together. We’re here to provide complete, end-to-end system architecture planning of every system including electrical, plumbing, air, and beyond. We design your vehicle build the way it should be: strategic, trouble-free, and fit for your mission.

  • Avoid the common pitfalls and build with total confidence.
  • Bypass the traditional approach to vehicle builds can be chaotic because of different trades working in isolation.
  • Suppliers pushing their own products, which might not be compliant to others.
  • No central plan or project timeline.
  • You, left trying to coordinate it all.

How We Work

All services start with a complimentary 30-minute consultation to understand the scope of your project.

Mission First: Architecture Call

Fancy a quickie?

Don’t get me wrong. I’m just concerned that these Mission-First options might be a touch convoluted.

So my idea is that we talk, face to face, to give you a leg up (see, I didn’t suggest a leg-over) to help you decide which package best suites your mission.

Our idea is a 30-minute call, quick, to the point, no messing around to the point where you’ll know exactly your path forward. It might even be that all that was needed was this brief house-call to help you out.

No risk. Whatever we accomplish, we both will know for sure which way to go. It’s just possible that a full consult option is wrong for you. But if one is right for you, we’ll both know how it can save you time and money and the cost of this call is refunded. Our goal is to get your build done with the least hassle, time and cost. And most of all, to fulfil your mission.

I’m reading a book about the SAS right now and this is like a quick interdiction. Get in, get out fast and inflict the most mayhem, or in this case, progress with your build.

So how about it?

We are really looking forward to hearing from you.

Let’s Build It Right—From the Start

We bridge the gap between your vision and a fully integrated build, guiding you with clarity and technical expertise—so every system works together seamlessly, and your project stays on time and within budget.

The following question form will assist us in evaluating if we can be of service to you and your mission. If we determine that your mission aligns with our experience and skills sets, we may then invite you to an introduction call with Heiner. This call is for you to ask questions, and for us to present details of the Mission First consultation ideals.
