Product Details

The intelligent heart of your 12 / 24 V build.
Most electrical failures in vehicle builds don’t come from bad gear — they come from the power-distribution system. Too many crimps. Too many lugs. Too many ways for one tiny mistake to take the whole system down. And because every workshop builds wiring differently, there’s no standard to rely on and no easy way to trace a fault.

The EGON DC-Hub fixes that. It gives you a professionally engineered, standardised distribution centre built by people who’ve designed and installed hundreds of systems. Instead of wiring chaos, you get a single, rugged, clearly-mapped hub that handles your start battery, house battery, charge inputs and accessories — all in one place.

Faster installs. Fewer failure points. Easier troubleshooting.
This is what reliable power distribution looks like.

Overview

DC-Hub — Professional Power Distribution Made Simple

The central brain of any reliable 12 / 24 V system — built to remove wiring complexity, human error, and installation downtime.

Why the DC-Hub Exists

In 90% of vehicle electrical failures, the problem isn’t the battery or the charger — it’s the wiring.
Too many crimps. Too many lugs. Too many handmade connections done differently by every technician and every workshop. Power distribution has never been standardised… until now.

The EGON DC-Hub is the professional-grade distribution solution built from decades of hands-on experience. It replaces a wiring mess with a single, engineered hub that’s easy to install, easy to understand, and easy to troubleshoot.

Designed by Experts. Built for Everyone.

  • Predefined, professional wiring architecture
  • One central location for all major inputs & outputs
  • Eliminates dozens of individual crimps and joins
  • Reduces human error dramatically
  • Clear labelling and logic for fast installation
  • Troubleshooting in minutes, not hours

What the DC-Hub Handles

  • Start battery
  • House battery
  • Charge input (DC-DC, solar, alternator feed)
  • Multiple accessories
  • High-load circuits (fused and protected)

The Result

Cleaner builds.
Fewer failure points.
A system anyone can understand.
And reliability you can trust on every trip.

What's Included

  • 1 x EGON DC-Hub Unit
  • Fastener-Kit to mount circuit board into optional bracket or onto any flat surface

What You'll Need

  • Main Fuses: You must install external main fuses at your batteries (e.g., a 150A fuse at the aux battery).
  • Fuses: The DC-Hub is supplied without fuses. You must select the correct Maxi and Standard ATO fuses for your loads and wire gauges.
  • Cabling: Appropriate gauge cabling for your planned loads.

Optional: EGON DC-Hub Bracket & Cover (available separately or as a kit add-on)

DC-Hub Wiring with Redarc BCDC Alpha + Victron MPPT

Wiring diagram showing the EGON DC-Hub connected with a Redarc BCDC Alpha charger, Victron MPPT, battery, and solar panels.

This example shows how the DC-Hub can be wired with a Redarc BCDC Alpha charger and a Victron MPPT for roof-mounted solar. The BCDC manages alternator charging and portable solar, while the Victron MPPT optimises fixed solar, improving overall system efficiency.

Connections

  • All ground connections are combined on the circuit board.
  • Aux (house) battery connects to P3 with an external 150A fuse at the battery bank.
  • Start battery connects to P8 with an external fuse at the vehicle start battery.
  • Solar panels connect to P7. Both P7 (solar) and P8 (start) positive cables are linked to P6 for easy integration with DC/DC chargers that include MPPT.
  • DC/DC charger connects to P5 (charge output/ground) and P6 (solar & start inputs).
  • Accessories (fridge, lights, compressors, etc.) connect to the remaining fused outputs.
  • All fused Outputs can also be used as Inputs

High-Current Circuits

  • Connectors P4 and P5 handle up to 80A continuous load. Dual-fuse provisions (e.g., 2 × 30A for a 60A load) must be used to prevent overheating.
  • Connectors P9 and P10 support 40A continuous load or 80A intermittent (<10 minutes at 50% duty cycle).
  • Always use fuses smaller than or equal to the cable’s amp rating and never exceed appliance manufacturer’s fuse ratings.

Torque Settings

  • 150A connector: 3Nm
  • 80A / 40A connectors: 1.8Nm
  • 25A connectors: 0.8Nm
  • Tighten all unused clamps to avoid vibration noise. In high-vibration builds, check torque as part of regular maintenance.

Recommended Tool: EGON recommends using a precision torque screwdriver, such as the Precision Torque Screwdriver available from EGON, to correctly tighten the contacts on the circuit board.

Fuse Handling

  • Fuses are designed to fit tightly to prevent voltage drop and overheating. Do not bend or loosen fuse holders.
  • If a fuse becomes loose, gently pinch the connector with pliers before reinserting.
  • Pay particular attention to fuse fitment at P5 (DC/DC charger).

FAQs

FAQs

How difficult is the installation?

If you have basic 12V knowledge, installation is straightforward. All connections land at a single, clearly-labelled point, and the manual provides detailed instructions and torque settings. The main advantage is removing the complexity of creating multiple fuse blocks and busbars from scratch.

What battery size (Ah) can I use?

The DC-Hub is not limited by a battery's Amp Hour (Ah) capacity. It works with any size battery bank. You must only respect the maximum current (Amp) limits for each input and output circuit as specified in the manual.

How does this compare to a Redarc RedVision or other digital management system?

The DC-Hub is designed for simplicity and reliability. Unlike digital management systems, it has no screens, apps, or complex software—it's a rugged, analogue solution focused purely on safe and simple power distribution. It also features a higher main current capacity (150A) than many all-in-one systems.
