Reality Revealed. Education is our biggest challenge
It’s always hard to convince anyone that there is a better way of doing something they’ve done for years, especially if they consider their work successful and productive. And this is Egon’s biggest challenge to date. So Heiner and I visited South Africa in the first of a series of seminars and Meet & Greets planned for all over the world, current world politics notwithstanding.
Our trip to South Africa this February was not just educational and productive but fun as well. We reckon that life is too short to limit our journey to the grind of entrepreneurship. And so, because it was Heiner’s first trip to Africa, we also spent our time there touring the western Cape hinterland and coast in search of a good time.
But our trip to South Africa was mainly to shore up the efforts of Egon’s South African distributors (trekara.co.za) by educating their market with Meet & Greets in Joburg and Cape Town. And the lesson is simply that, ordinary electrical installations with no standardization and lack of diagnostic abilities for the end user are at an end. But believe it or not, selling the idea of making more money in less time is a hard to do! Maybe because it sounds a little too good to be true.
Of course, this is what Egon is all about. And it’s only a hard sell to techies in workshops until they try one. Fitting just one Dc-Hub is sufficient to gain a convert.
So this blog is the full Johannesburg Meet & Greet held on 7 February 2026. We had about 60 in attendance and about 150 who asked to be sent the video once done.
